Welcome to Half Moon Bay Lions
Pancake Breakfast
Join us this 4th of July for a delicious pancake breakfast that has become a cherished tradition in Half Moon Bay. From 8am to 11:30am, indulge in fluffy pancakes served fresh from the griddle while connecting with neighbors and friends in the festive atmosphere of our community. Located conveniently in the parking lot behind the Portuguese Culture Center at 724 Kelly Avenue, this event not only fills your belly but also supports the vital work of the Half Moon Bay Lions Club in serving those in need. With a suggested donation of just twelve dollars per plate, you can savor a morning of great food and fellowship while contributing to our ongoing efforts to uplift and assist our community. Celebrate your independence with us and help us continue our mission of service and support.
The Half Moon Bay Lions Club is celebrating over 75 years. This coastside club was founded January 16, 1947. The Lions Club motto is “We Serve” as well as “Where there is a need there is a Lion”. One of the purposes of the Lions is to “Encourage service-minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward”.
The Lions Club raises money in a variety of ways. We grill burgers and cook corn on the cob at the Pumpkin Festival, and we host the parade and pancake breakfast on the 4th of July. We serve the community in a variety of ways as well, such as collecting used glasses and repurposing them for those in need, helping test the eyes of grade school children, and helping the Second Harvest Food Bank, along with St. Vincent de Paul, to provide food for those in need on the coast.
We give back to the community in many ways. We donate funds to many different organizations on the coast. Some of which are: High School Sports teams, Coastside Hockey, 4H & FFA, High School Grad night, HMB Little League, Kases for kids, Relay for Life, Coastside Hope, Senior Center, Student Speaker Contest, Canine companions for Independence and High School College Scholarships..
